Makasi Joins Kitui Leaders in Emotional Send-Off of Matriarch Belita Mwatha Ngotho

Kitui Women Representative aspirant Miss Fridah Makasi on Saturday joined leaders and residents of Kauwi Ward in paying their last respects to the late matriarch Belita Mwatha Ngotho during a solemn send-off ceremony held in Kaluni.

The ceremony brought together family, friends, and leaders from across Kitui West, reflecting the deep respect and influence the late Ngotho held within the community.

Among the leaders present was Kitui West Member of Parliament Hon. Edith Nyenze, who led mourners in celebrating the life of the deceased, describing her as a pillar of wisdom and unity in the society.

Makasi, who is steadily gaining political ground ahead of the 2027 general elections, used the occasion to console the bereaved family and emphasize the importance of community solidarity during moments of grief. She noted that the legacy of the late Ngotho would continue to inspire generations.

“As leaders, we stand with the family during this difficult time. Mama Belita was a symbol of strength and values that bind our communities together,” Makasi said.

Her presence at the event adds to a series of grassroots engagements that have seen her strengthen ties with local communities across Kitui County as she positions herself for the Women Representative seat.

The send-off ceremony was marked by tributes, prayers, and cultural rites honoring the life and legacy of the late matriarch.
