Mwingi North MP hopeful Martha Mati joined residents of Kitui South in showing overwhelming support for area MP Dr Racheal Nyamai during a historic empowerment and public engagement forum held in Ikanga Town, Ikanga/Kyatune Ward.
Mati, who is seeking to represent Mwingi North Constituency in Parliament, joined other leaders in celebrating Nyamai’s leadership as the legislator hosted residents and engaged them on development priorities.
The event brought together political leaders and residents, with discussions focusing on development-oriented politics, economic empowerment and the government’s agenda under President William Ruto.
In her remarks, Nyamai expressed gratitude to the people of Ikanga/Kyatune for their warm reception and support, saying the turnout had made her proud.
“My people of Ikanga/Kyatune Ward, asanteni sana for the exemplary meeting, the warm engagement and the great honour you accorded me today in front of my guests. You truly made me proud!” Nyamai stated.
She said the leaders had emphasised the importance of unity and development, urging residents to remain focused on initiatives that improve livelihoods rather than divisive political rhetoric.
Among the leaders who attended the forum were Public Service Principal Secretary Jonathan Mueke, Mwingi West MP Charles Nguna, Nominated Senator Beth Syengo, former Cabinet Secretary Peninah Malonza, Bonnie Musambi, Kitui Rural MP hopeful John Kisangau Mbaki and former MP Joe Mutambu, among others.
Mati’s presence at the event highlighted the growing interactions among leaders from different constituencies as political conversations ahead of the 2027 General Election continue to gather momentum in Ukambani.
The forum also provided an opportunity for leaders to rally residents around development and economic empowerment, with Nyamai reaffirming her commitment to working with the people of Kitui South.

The event ended with messages of appreciation to the residents of Ikanga/Kyatune, as Nyamai thanked them for their support and called for continued unity and a shared focus on development.
