Corporate leader Nicholas Muinde Mulila, a 2027 Kitui gubernatorial aspirant, was the chief guest at the Annual Diocesan Family Day of the Catholic Diocese of Kitui, held at St. John Paul II Institute Grounds in Kitui.
The colourful event brought together thousands of Catholic faithful to celebrate their faith, strengthen unity and support various diocesan pastoral and development projects.
The celebration was presided over by Rt. Rev. John Mwandi under the theme, “Come, Let Us Celebrate Our Faith and Unity as One Family.”
Mulila joined Christians in reaffirming the important role played by families and the Church in nurturing moral values, promoting unity and supporting community development.
Mwingi West MP Charles Nguna was among the leaders who attended the event, alongside Bishop Joseph Mwongela, Coadjutor Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Machakos, and other invited guests.
Mulila’s presence at the gathering placed him in the spotlight as Kitui’s 2027 gubernatorial race continues to attract political attention. However, other aspirants were notably absent, raising questions about their participation in major public and religious gatherings.
The annual Family Day remains an important occasion for the Catholic Diocese of Kitui, bringing believers together while mobilising support for the Church’s pastoral mission and development activities.
