Boniface Mutia Muli Urges Kitui Residents to Elect Accessible, People-Centred Leaders
Decorated Nairobi businessman who hails from Kitui Mr **Boniface Mutia Muli** has urged residents to elect leaders who are accessible, responsive and willing to listen to the needs of ordinary citizens, saying leadership should be measured by how effectively leaders serve the people during their most difficult moments.
Speaking exclusively to TCD Digital Editor after spending a week accompanying former Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu during her campaign trail in Kitui, Mutia emphasised the need for leaders who maintain close contact with the electorate and remain available when their support is needed most.
He challenged voters to look beyond campaign promises and consider leaders who can be reached during emergencies and personal challenges, including helping families facing hospital bills and other essential needs. According to Mutia, true leadership goes beyond seeking votes and should be demonstrated through compassion, practical support and a genuine commitment to improving people’s lives.
Accompanied by close business associates, the businessman also called on the people of Kitui to rally behind **Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s presidential bid**, urging residents to support his ambition wholeheartedly. He maintained that the region should unite behind Kalonzo as the political contest ahead takes shape.
Mutia’s remarks come as political leaders and aspirants intensify their engagements with residents ahead of the 2027 General Election. His message placed accessibility, accountability and people-centred leadership at the heart of the political debate, urging Kitui voters to choose leaders who remain connected to the community long after the campaign rallies are over.
