Mwingi West Member of Parliament, Hon. Charles Nguna (CNN), has reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty to the Wiper Democratic Movement–Kenya, dismissing claims from critics that he has abandoned the party.
Speaking exclusively to The County Diary from Tanzania, where he is on official duties, the MP maintained that he is a Wiper life member and accused his political rivals of spreading false narratives to discredit him ahead of the 2027 elections.
“I am a Wiper party life member. The propaganda being spread by my opponents in Mwingi West is baseless. They are only salivating for my seat in 2027,” said Nguna.
His remarks come days after Wiper Party Leader H.E. Kalonzo Musyoka, during a United Opposition rally in Kitui town, publicly wondered about Nguna’s absence, saying: “Where is Mwingi West MP CNN? I don’t see him here. He is being misled by President William Ruto. He should stop being misled with the Kwa Siku–Mbondoni road; the President should complete that road.”
Reacting to the remarks, Nguna said there was nothing personal in Kalonzo’s statement, terming it a show of fatherly concern.
“I listened to the clip and took no offense. I’m happy that the Kwa Siku–Mbondoni road, which had neither funding nor plans for completion before, has now kicked off. It will greatly benefit the people of Kitui County. My Party Leader was simply expressing concern like a father,” he said.
Nguna’s critics have been accusing him of aligning with the Kenya Kwanza administration, but the MP insists his focus remains on delivering development projects to his constituents while remaining loyal to the Wiper party.
