You Must accept to retire, Genz President Dr Vincent Munyoki blasts 80 years old Charity Ngilu

The Genz President Dr vincent Munyoki has called on former Kitui Governor Charity Kaluki Ngilu to bow out of active politics and allow a new generation of leaders to take over.

Speaking to The Media, the Gen Z President Dr. Vincent Munyoki, urged former county boss to retire gracefully and, if interested, mentor her children to join the race for the Kitui governorship in 2027.

“You must accept to retire honorably and bring your son or daughter to compete with us for the position of Governor in 2027,” said Dr. Munyoki.

Dr Munyoki argued that Kitui requires youthful leaders with fresh ideas and energy to continue from where Governor Dr. Julius Malombe will leave office when his current term ends in 2027.

“Kitui is ready for transformation, but that transformation will not be driven by recycling old politicians. We need young leaders with vision, innovation, and integrity,” Dr. Munyoki added.

Charity Ngilu, who served as Kitui’s first woman governor from 2017 to 2022, has been sending signals of a political comeback. However, her critics insist her time in politics has come to an end, citing age and the need to pave way for emerging leaders.

The succession debate in Kitui is already gaining momentum, with several camps positioning themselves early as the county prepares for a post-Malombe political transition in 2027.
