Stop being Unfair To Kalonzo’s Roads in Tseikuru, MP Nyamai tells SENATOR WAMBUA

Kitui South Member of Parliament Dr Rachael Nyamai has criticised Senator Enoch Wambua over his recent remarks on President William Ruto’s development projects in Kitui County, arguing that ongoing infrastructure projects should benefit all residents, regardless of their political affiliations.

Nyamai spoke on Friday, September 18, 2026, during an empowerment and public engagement forum at Kathivo Playing Ground, where leaders and residents gathered to discuss community development and political issues ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The forum was hosted by UDA Kitui West parliamentary aspirant Commissioner Benedict Muasya and brought together Mwingi North parliamentary aspirant Martha Mati, Senator Beth Syengo, Kitui County Assembly Speaker Hon Kinengo, MCA Maluki and other leaders.

Nyamai Questions Wambua’s Position on Kalonzo’s Home Road

During the forum, Nyamai took issue with Senator Wambua’s recent comments suggesting that President Ruto could halt development projects in Kitui because Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka would complete them if elected president in 2027.

Wambua made the remarks while defending the right of residents to benefit from government-funded development, arguing that public projects should not be treated as political favours.

Nyamai, however, challenged the senator to support the ongoing road development agenda, particularly the planned tarmacking of the Tseikuru Road, which serves the area around Kalonzo Musyoka’s rural home.

The Kitui South MP questioned why Wambua would criticise the government’s development plans while benefiting from a tarmacked road leading to his home in Kabati.

She urged the senator to allow the national government to proceed with the Tseikuru road project, which has remained a subject of public and political debate.

The exchange highlights the growing political debate in Kitui over the relationship between government development projects and the 2027 presidential contest, as leaders take different positions on President Ruto’s infrastructure agenda and Kalonzo Musyoka’s political ambitions.

The County Diary will continue following the development and the reactions from leaders across Kitui County.
