Mp hopeful Henry Nyamai Ramps Up Grassroots Development Push Through Key Project Inspections and Community Engagements in Kitui East

Kitui East MP aspirant Henry Nyamai has reaffirmed his commitment to people-centered leadership, saying that development must be inclusive, transparent, and evenly distributed across all wards. He emphasized that empowering youth, improving education, and strengthening faith-based institutions remain central to his development agenda.

Nyamai said he has continued to engage widely with residents across Kitui East to understand their needs and ensure that development priorities reflect grassroots realities. He noted that effective leadership must be grounded in constant interaction with the electorate and visible service delivery.

On Friday 5/6/2026, Nyamai accompanied Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe during a series of development inspections and commissioning activities in Voo/Kyamatu Ward. The tour focused on accelerating infrastructure development and improving essential public services in the area.

Among the key projects commissioned was the Thua Drift at Kiangini Shopping Center in Kiangini/Emale County Village, a project expected to improve mobility and boost local economic activities. Leaders also held a public baraza to engage residents on development issues affecting the area.

The delegation further commissioned the Kyamatu Old School Modern Dispensary, a facility aimed at improving access to healthcare services for residents. Nyamai said the project reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening health infrastructure at the grassroots level.

They also inspected the ongoing Muthungue–Masikalini–Imumba–Ndila Police Station road project, which is expected to enhance connectivity, improve security operations, and open up the region for trade and development once completed.

In addition, the leaders commissioned the Kaluasi borehole development project, which includes drilling, solar-powered pumping systems, pipeline extension, and installation of a water kiosk, aimed at improving access to clean water for local communities.

On Saturday 6/6/2026, Nyamai joined residents in Malalani, Endau/Malalani Ward, during a thanksgiving and Nzisya celebration honoring former Kitui East MP Hon. Mwikya Mweu, an event marked by unity and reflection on past leadership milestones.

He later attended a fundraising event at Yiuku Secondary School aimed at constructing a new administration block, where he reiterated his support for improving learning infrastructure and investing in education as a foundation for long-term development.

Nyamai also participated in a church Ngetha fundraising at St. Joseph Voo Catholic Church and later attended a similar support event at Holy Spirit Zombe Parish, where he pledged continued support for faith-based development initiatives across the constituency.
