Residents of Mumoni Ward in Mwingi North Constituency have received a major healthcare boost following the commissioning of Kaliwa Dispensary by Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe on Friday, June 26, 2026.
The newly renovated, equipped, and operationalized health facility is among key projects undertaken by the county administration to strengthen healthcare delivery and improve access to medical services at the grassroots level.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Governor Malombe said his administration remains committed to ensuring that residents across Kitui County have access to quality and affordable healthcare services.
He noted that the upgrading and operationalization of Kaliwa Dispensary demonstrates the county government’s continued investment in healthcare infrastructure aimed at bringing services closer to the people.
The governor emphasized that healthcare remains one of his administration’s priority sectors, adding that improved health facilities help reduce the burden on residents who previously travelled long distances in search of medical care.
Residents are expected to benefit from enhanced healthcare services including outpatient care, maternal and child health services, immunization programs, and other essential medical services.
Governor Malombe further reaffirmed his government’s dedication to expanding and improving health facilities across all wards to ensure equitable access to healthcare for every resident of Kitui County.
The event attracted several county leaders and senior government officials who accompanied the governor during the launch of the facility.
Among those present were Kitui Deputy Governor Augustine Kanani, Mumoni Ward MCA Hon. Titus Kasinga, Ministry of Health Chief Officers Lynn Kitwann and Aggrey Kamba, alongside a section of County Executive Committee Members and other leaders.
