Principal Secretary for Livestock Development, Hon. Jonathan Mueke, joined Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports, H.E. Salim Mvurya, alongside PS Raymond Omollo (Internal Security) and PS Elijah Mwangi (Sports), for an inspection tour of Ithookwe Stadium in Kitui ahead of this year’s Mashujaa Day celebrations.
The team, hosted by Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe, assessed the stadium and related infrastructure, expressing satisfaction with the remarkable progress. The facility is now 96% complete, signaling Kitui’s readiness to host the national event.
Speaking during the visit, the leaders commended the quality of work and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring the successful completion of the project in time for the celebrations.
With only final touches remaining, Ithookwe Stadium stands as a symbol of regional pride and development as Kitui prepares to welcome the nation for Mashujaa Day 2025.
