Makusya village in Yatta Kwa Vonza ward, Kitui Rural, has become a hub of transformation thanks to a series of impactful projects spearheaded by the County Government of Kitui under the leadership of Governor Dr. Julius Malombe in partnership with area MCA Hon. Mark Nding’o.

The residents, who for years faced challenges in water access, infrastructure, and social amenities, are now celebrating the county’s commitment to improving livelihoods. From clean water projects and solar lighting to modern education facilities and road infrastructure, Makusya has seen unprecedented growth.

Some of the completed and ongoing projects include the Mwitasyano-Kwakilui water project, water tanks at Kwa Musyoka Kituyu, grading of Kimangu–Mamole and Kimangu–Kiumoni roads, and construction of market toilets at Kwakilui. The county has also invested in healthcare and education through the Kwakilui dispensary toilets, new ECDE classrooms at Ngovu, Waivumbu, and Ngulilu primary schools, and the Kiusyani High Mast solar lighting system that has boosted security and business operations.
