Incoming Kitui Rural Member of Parliament Hon. Charles Mutisya Nyamai attended the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Kanyangi Financial Services Association (FSA), where he reaffirmed his commitment to reviving the institution amid ongoing leadership wrangles.

Addressing community members and stakeholders during the AGM, Hon. Nyamai expressed gratitude to the local community for their continued support of the FSA, which has played a crucial role in promoting financial inclusion in kitui rural.

“I thank the people of this region for standing with these financial institutions, Kiusyani FSA during has been under going leadership and Hon Nyamai pledged to intervene during the challenging times.

“My main agenda is commitment to ensuring that that vital institution is up and running again,” said Nyamai.

The Kiusyani FSA has been grappling with internal leadership disputes that have affected its operations, threatening the livelihoods of thousands who rely on its services. Nyamai pledged to work closely with stakeholders and relevant authorities to restore order and rebuild trust in the institution.

“This FSA has helped thousands in Lower Yatta access credit and improve their economic well-being. It cannot be allowed to collapse,” he emphasized.

Nyamai, who previously served as the MP for Kitui Rural, is among key political figures eyeing a return to Parliament in 2026. His appearance at the AGM and public commitment to the FSA’s revival is seen as a strategic move to reconnect with the grassroots ahead of the next general election.

The Kiusyani FSA has long been a cornerstone of financial empowerment in the region, offering savings and credit services to residents who are often excluded from mainstream banking. Community members welcomed Nyamai’s remarks and urged leaders to put aside differences for the sake of development.
