Kisasi Member of County Assembly Hon. Nicholus Mutemi on Wednesday joined residents, sub-county administrators and ward administrators in commissioning the already excavated Kinyeki Earth Dam in Mosa Village.
The project, which is funded by the County Government of Kitui, is expected to boost water access for local residents and livestock, while also supporting farming activities in the area.
Speaking during the commissioning exercise, Hon. Mutemi said the earth dam will play a key role in addressing water shortages that have affected the community for years. He noted that the county government remains committed to investing in water infrastructure projects aimed at improving livelihoods across Kisasi Ward.
Residents welcomed the project, saying the dam will reduce the long distances previously travelled in search of water, especially during dry seasons.
Local administrators present during the event praised the collaboration between the county government and the community in ensuring successful implementation of development projects in the area.
