Kitui Rural UDA MP aspirant Hon. John Kisangau on Friday hosted a women empowerment and public engagement forum in Kanyangi Town, bringing together a high-powered team of UDA leaders and local political figures. The forum provided a platform for residents, particularly women, to engage with leaders on development priorities and the political direction of the country ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The gathering was led by Kitui South MP Dr. Racheal Kaki Nyamai, who highlighted key projects implemented by President William Ruto’s administration and outlined ongoing transformative programmes expected to impact communities across Kitui County. She urged residents to recognise development initiatives being undertaken by the national government and continue supporting the Kenya Kwanza administration.
Kisangau used the forum to strengthen his grassroots engagement with residents of Kitui Rural, stressing the importance of empowering women and creating opportunities that directly improve household livelihoods. He said sustained engagement with communities would remain central to his leadership approach as he seeks to represent Kitui Rural in Parliament.
The forum was attended by PS Jonathan Mueke, Hon. Charles Nguna, Hon. Joe Mutambu, Hon. Penina Malonza, Kitui County Assembly Speaker Hon. Kevin Kinengo Katisya, Commissioner Ben Muasya, Hon. Martha Mati, Hon. Bonnie Musambi, several MCAs and other local leaders. Their presence underscored the growing mobilisation of UDA leaders in the constituency as the 2027 political contest begins to take shape.
Kisangau called on residents to remain united and actively participate in development discussions affecting their communities, while rallying behind President Ruto’s development agenda. The Kanyangi engagement marked another step in his efforts to consolidate grassroots support and position his candidature around empowerment, development and stronger representation for the people of Kitui Rural.
