Yatta kwa Vonza Member of the Kitui County Assembly (MCA) Hon. Mark Ndingo has accused elected Wiper Members of Parliament of abandoning party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and retreating to their constituencies to safeguard their political seats ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Speaking during the Kwitu FM Morning Talk Show, Ndingo said Wiper MPs are no longer actively defending Kalonzo Musyoka at the national level, instead spending most of their time in villages attending local functions and weekend meetings focused on self-preservation.

Ndingo expressed concern that despite Kalonzo Musyoka being a key national political figure, there is little visible effort by Wiper MPs to promote or defend his leadership outside the Ukambani region. He argued that such silence weakens the party’s national influence.

“We should be hearing and seeing different MPs out there defending Kalonzo Musyoka beyond the Ukambani bloc, but that is not happening. These MPs are busy defending their own seats every weekend,” Ndingo said.

The MCA further claimed that Members of County Assemblies (MCAs) have taken a more active role in supporting Kalonzo Musyoka compared to MPs, terming the situation worrying for the party’s future.

According to Ndingo, the main challenge facing Wiper is having elected MPs whose performance and political engagement do not match expectations placed on them by the party and its supporters.

He called on Wiper MPs to step up their efforts, unite behind the party leader, and actively engage in national politics to strengthen Wiper’s position as the country heads toward the 2027 elections.
