The Speaker of the County Assembly of Kitui, Hon. Kevin Kinengo Katisya, has reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to working closely with the County Executive to deliver development and improved services to the people of Kitui. Speaking at the start of the new year, Katisya emphasized that the Assembly will continue to support the county government under the leadership of Governor Dr. Julius Malombe in fulfilling the “Kitui Promise.”

With only one year, seven months, and five days remaining to the next General Election, the Speaker noted that 2026 marks the final full year for leaders to deliver tangible results. He stressed that wananchi deserve better services and meaningful development, urging all leaders to remain focused on service delivery rather than early political campaigns as the election period approaches.

Hon. Katisya made the remarks during an interactive radio engagement on Musyi FM, the first Monday of the year, where he engaged residents on governance, development priorities, and the role of the County Assembly. He thanked Musyi FM host Sir Mwenge Mwenge for facilitating the discussion and enabling public participation.

The Speaker concluded by calling for unity among leaders and stakeholders, underscoring that development—not politics—should remain the priority in the remaining period before the 2027 elections.
