Kitui County Assembly Deputy Minority Leader, Hon. S.M. Kitheka, popularly known as Yaamu, has paid a powerful tribute to the late Rt. Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga, describing him as an immortal hero whose legacy will live forever in the hearts of Kenyans. Speaking to the TCD digital,Hon. Kitheka said that Kenya was not mourning the death of a man, but celebrating the rise of a legend who dedicated his entire life to freedom, justice, and democracy.

The Minority Leader hailed Raila as a fearless statesman who stood tall when others bowed, spoke truth when others remained silent, and endured persecution so that Kenya could stand free. “From the dark cells of detention to the bright lights of the ballot, Baba never surrendered. He bore the scars of struggle not for himself, but for every Kenyan who dreamed of a fair nation,” said Hon. Kitheka, describing Raila’s political journey as one marked by unmatched bravery and selflessness.

He further noted that Raila Odinga’s unwavering courage reshaped Kenya’s political destiny, inspiring millions to believe in the power of the people. “Baba shook dictators, challenged corruption, and confronted systems that enslaved our people. He was not perfect, but he was real — a warrior whose heart burned with love for his country,” Kitheka remarked, adding that Kenya owes its democratic milestones to Raila’s relentless pursuit of justice.

Hon. Kitheka called on Kenyans, especially the youth, to carry forward Raila’s torch of unity, integrity, and courage. He urged them to defend the ideals that Baba stood for and to continue his vision for a just, equitable, and prosperous Kenya. “Baba may have rested, but the struggle continues. Long live the spirit of Raila Amollo Odinga! Long live the dream of a free Kenya!” he concluded passionately.
