The Principal Secretary for the State Department for Petroleum, Mohamed Liban, CBS, today commissioned modern borehole equipment at Kitui Teachers Training College. The commissioning marks a significant milestone in ensuring sustainable access to clean water within the institution and its surrounding community. The project is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to promote renewable energy and water security across the country.
PS Liban, who was accompanied by digital strategist Denis Itumbi and other senior government officials, lauded the initiative as a key step toward improving learning conditions in higher institutions through reliable water supply. He noted that water is an essential resource in fostering a conducive environment for training and innovation, particularly in teacher education.
Speaking during the event, Denis Itumbi commended the collaboration between the Ministry of Energy and local institutions, saying such partnerships play a crucial role in improving service delivery at the grassroots. He also highlighted the significance of integrating technology and energy efficiency in government projects, especially as the country prepares for the Mashujaa Day national celebrations in Kitui County.
