Kitui South MP Dr. Racheal Nyamai has hailed President William Ruto for the proposed tarmacking of the Ikutha–Kanziko–Mutha–Mutomo road, a flagship project expected to begin soon.
Dr. Nyamai expressed gratitude to the national government for its continued investment in Kitui South, citing projects such as rural electrification, the construction of the modern Mutomo market, and the upcoming Mutha market shade. She noted that these projects are opening up opportunities for trade, boosting local businesses, and improving livelihoods.
Speaking during the launch of the Kangu Kangu Water Scheme in Mutomo, the legislator also thanked Governor Julius Malombe for partnering with World Vision to deliver the ambitious project, which is expected to benefit thousands of families across Kitui South by providing clean and reliable water.
The Jubilee MP further applauded the spirit of cooperation between the county and national governments, saying such partnerships are key to transforming people’s lives. She described the water project as a lifeline for households that have long struggled with water shortages, especially in arid and semi-arid areas.
Dr. Nyamai reiterated that she is committed to working closely with the national government under President Ruto’s leadership to ensure that Kitui South continues to benefit from development programs. She emphasized that her priority is to ensure that residents see tangible results from government investments.
“Development is about teamwork. I will continue working hand in hand with the national government to make sure our people are not left behind. We must focus on roads, water, electricity, education, and markets because these are the foundations of a stronger economy in Kitui South,” she said.

Nyamai assured residents that more projects are in the pipeline and encouraged them to remain patient and optimistic as both levels of government scale up their development agenda in the constituency.
