Kitui South MP Dr. Racheal Nyamai has urged the County Commissioner of Kitui to take charge of communicating and clarifying national government projects being implemented in the county.
Speaking on Monday, Dr. Nyamai insisted that the National Agriculture Value Chain Development Project is a national government initiative funded by the Ministry of Agriculture and should not be politically misrepresented.
“I expect the County Commissioner to tell the people of Kitui all the national government projects being implemented through the County Government of Kitui. These shall include the Ksh 400 million projects under the Equalization Fund. This will be the spirit going forward,” she said.
The legislator cautioned against allowing local politicians opposed to President William Ruto to claim credit for projects funded and implemented by the national government.
“If the County Commissioner does not do this, we have 12 MPs ready to tell the whole of Ukambani what the President has done. Tukutane ground,” Dr. Nyamai warned.
She emphasized that government projects belong to the people and should not be politicized by leaders who are “on record fighting the President.”
