Yatta Kwa Vonza MCA, Hon. Mark Nding’o, has urged the National Government to expedite the full devolution of remaining functions to counties in order to maximize service delivery and development.
Speaking during a live morning talk show at Thome FM in Kitui town, Nding’o emphasized that devolution remains the greatest gift to Kenyans under the 2010 Constitution, and called on citizens to elect leaders who genuinely prioritize the interests of the people.
“The National Government should fully devolve the remaining county functions. Leaders must have the people at heart if we are to truly harness the gains of devolution,” said Nding’o.
The vocal MCA further praised Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Makau Malombe for steering the county on a solid development path, noting that the County Assembly is working closely with the executive to ensure residents benefit fully from devolution.
On matters of integrity, Nding’o underscored the need for robust action against graft. “The National Government must strengthen anti-corruption institutions to safeguard and maximize the gains of devolution,” he said.
His remarks come at a time when the debate on devolution, accountability, and service delivery continues to shape Kenya’s governance landscape.
