Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has issued a stern warning to police officers and chiefs against chanting the popular Wantam political slogan, saying it compromises the neutrality expected of public servants.
Murkomen, who spoke on Tuesday, emphasized that administrators and security officers must serve the government of the day with loyalty and professionalism.
“Nisipate mtu anasema Wantam kwa Rais William Ruto,” Murkomen cautioned, adding that any officer found engaging in political sloganeering while on duty will face disciplinary action.
He reminded officers that their mandate is to implement government policies, uphold the law, and remain politically impartial in the course of their duties.
