Kitui Rural MP hopeful Mr. Kasolo received an electrifying welcome during the thanksgiving ceremony and midterm scorecard review of Yatta Kwa Vonza MCA Hon. Mark Kitute Nding’o, held at Mamole town.
Kasolo used the platform to officially declare his intention to unseat incumbent MP Mboni Mwalika in the 2027 general election.
The event also featured the launch of the Mark Kitute Nding’o Foundation, a community empowerment initiative. Dignitaries in attendance included Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe, Nominated Senator Hon. Beth Syengo, MCAs, and other county leaders.
Mr. Kasolo’s bold declaration adds fuel to the growing political tension in Kitui Rural, where discontent with the current leadership is steadily rising. His electrifying reception by residents at Mamole sent a strong signal that the ground may be shifting ahead of the 2027 elections. With the backing of several local leaders and a visible presence at grassroots events, Kasolo is positioning himself as a formidable contender.
As the 2027 race shapes up, the big question remains—will MP Mboni Mwalika survive this onslaught? With mounting criticism over alleged political missteps and growing opposition from youthful, energized aspirants like Kasolo, Mwalika faces an uphill battle. The unfolding political drama in Kitui Rural will undoubtedly be one to watch.
Observers note that the presence of high-ranking leaders such as Governor Malombe and Senator Syengo at the Mamole event, coupled with Kasolo’s rising popularity, could signify a broader shift in political alliances within Kitui Rural. As the constituency edges closer to the 2027 polls, MP Mwalika may be forced to re-strategize and reconnect with the electorate if he hopes to retain his seat amidst growing pressure and emerging challengers.
