Mwingi West MP Hon. Charles Nguna on Friday hosted a high-profile fundraiser at Baraza Park, Migwani, in a bold move aimed at empowering women and youth across the constituency. The event, which attracted top national and regional leaders, raised over KSh 4.5 million to support more than 150 self-help groups in the area.
The youthful Wiper legislator reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots empowerment, emphasizing the need to invest in women and youth as key drivers of socio-economic transformation in the region.
“This is not just about raising money; it is about changing lives. When you empower women and youth, you empower the whole community,” Hon. Nguna said during the event.

The leaders lauded Hon. Nguna for his proactive leadership and continued dedication to development initiatives in Mwingi West. National Assembly Speaker Wetangula commended the MP’s efforts, noting that such community-focused engagements are crucial in realizing the country’s development goals.
The funds raised will go towards equipping women and youth groups with the necessary tools, capital, and training to boost income-generating activities across Migwani and the larger Mwingi West region.
Hon. Nguna has previously championed similar empowerment initiatives in the constituency, solidifying his reputation as a leader keen on uplifting the grassroots.
