United Democratic Alliance (UDA) kitui lobby group chair, Mr. Jacob Katiwa, was among the leaders from Kitui County who attended a high-level meeting at State House today, signaling growing cooperation between regional leaders and the national government.
Speaking exclusively to TCD Editor, Mr. Katiwa reaffirmed his support for President William Ruto, stating that as the chairman of the rolling party lobby, he is committed to backing the Head of State in delivering development to the people of Kitui County.
“As Kitui leaders, we have a duty to support the president in his efforts to transform our region. We are fully behind him as he works to fulfill his promises,” said Katiwa.
He further expressed gratitude to President Ruto for facilitating compensation to residents whose land was affected during the construction of the Kibwezi–Kitui road — a critical infrastructure project that has opened up the region for trade and investment.
“We thank His Excellency the President for ensuring that our people will be compensated fairly. This shows his commitment to justice and development in Kitui,” he added.
Mr. Katiwa also officially welcomed the President to the Ukambani region next month, saying leaders and residents are ready to receive him warmly and engage on key issues affecting the region.
The meeting at State House is seen as part of broader efforts by President Ruto to consolidate support across counties ahead of upcoming national development forums and political realignments.
