Mwingi West Member of Parliament, Hon. Charles Nguna, on Monday launched the grading of the Migwani–Kaliluni–Kwa Mbuta road during his development and “Meet the People” tour in Kaliluni, Migwani Location.
The road project, which was lobbied through the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) under the MP’s patronage, is expected to greatly improve transport and enhance business activities in the region.
Speaking to residents and the media, Hon. Nguna outlined the scope of work to be undertaken, which includes bush clearing, grading, installation of culverts, and spot murraming.

“This road links Migwani and Kyome/Thaana wards, and is crucial for transport, trade, and daily movement of our people. I’m committed to ensuring better infrastructure in Mwingi West,” said the legislator.
Residents expressed their appreciation for the project, noting that the road has long been impassable during rainy seasons and has hindered the movement of goods and services.
The MP reiterated his commitment to grassroots development and pledged to continue working closely with government agencies to bring more infrastructure projects to the constituency.
