Kitui County Governor, H.E. Dr. Julius Malombe, EGH, on Saturday joined family members, friends, and local leaders in mourning the untimely death of Dennis Muimi Kimwele, a 28-year-old resident of Nzanzeni Location in Tseikuru Ward, Mwingi North Sub-county.

The late Kimwele, a young father of one, tragically passed away following a short battle with paronychia—a painful infection of the skin around the nails.

Addressing mourners during the burial ceremony, Governor Malombe expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, urging them to seek strength and solace in God during their difficult time.

“The loss of a child at this age is very painful. May God give you strength during this difficult time,” he said.

The Governor also took the opportunity to reassure residents of his administration’s commitment to development and the improvement of essential services across the county, particularly in Tseikuru Ward.

Leaders present commended Dr. Malombe for his hands-on leadership and dedication to uplifting Mwingi North through strategic budgetary allocations targeting healthcare, roads, water supply, and other key sectors.

“You have worked tirelessly for Mwingi North, Your Excellency. May God grant you many more years of good health, Sir,” said Mwingi North MP, Hon. Paul Nzengu.

Tseikuru Ward is among the biggest beneficiaries of the county’s development agenda, having received significant investment in infrastructure and social amenities under Dr. Malombe’s leadership.

Other leaders in attendance included AD Jane Nyamu; Chief Officers Musya Ketonya and Dr. Benson Musyoka; CECMs Gitonga Nkunda, Dr. Mbaya Kimwele, and Eng. Mulwa Itiko; and several MCAs including Muthengi Ntangara (Tharaka), Munyoki Mwinzi (Kyuso), Mercy Muema (Nominated), and Kimanzi Muange (Tseikuru).

The ceremony was marked by a strong sense of unity, empathy, and collective resolve to support the family of the late Dennis Kimwele as they navigate their grief.
