Kitui County is set to launch a tourism circuit aimed at tapping into its rich cultural heritage and natural attractions. Speaking during the 2025 Devolution Conference in Homa Bay, Deputy Governor H.E. Wambua Kanani announced that the county will partner with the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) to foster a strong working relationship in promoting and protecting touristic zones.
In a major boost to the sector, the Deputy Governor revealed that the Kenya Utalii College will establish a training facility in Kitui. The institution will equip county government front office staff and hotel industry personnel with professional hospitality skills, enhancing service standards in the region.
Kanani reaffirmed the county’s commitment to working closely with development partners to transform Kitui into a competitive tourism and investment destination. He noted that the planned tourism circuit will open up economic opportunities, create jobs, and Position the county as a must-visit destination in Eastern Kenya.
