The Principal Secretary for Livestock Development, Hon. Jonathan Mueke, on Monday afternoon hosted a team of officers from the Office of the Auditor General as part of an ongoing assessment of resource utilization within the State Department for Livestock Development.
The visit aimed to evaluate how effectively and efficiently the department is using its allocated resources in implementing programs and delivering services to Kenyans.
Speaking during the engagement, PS Mueke reaffirmed the department’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of transparency and accountability.
“We remain committed to transparency and accountability in all our operations,” said Mueke. “This exercise is not just a constitutional requirement, but a critical pillar in ensuring public trust and improved service delivery.”
The Auditor General’s office plays a key oversight role in ensuring that public funds are used prudently and in accordance with the law.
The visit underscores the government’s efforts to promote good governance and fiscal responsibility across all ministries and departments.
