Governor Malombe Commissions Nzeeu–Kavasya–Ngiluni Water Project in Kitui Rural
Kitui Governor Julius Malombe on Friday commissioned the Nzeeu–Kavasya–Ngiluni Sumpwell Water Supply Scheme in Kitui Rural Sub-County, a project rehabilitated by the County Government of Kitui to boost access to clean and reliable water for local residents.
The water project is expected to significantly improve livelihoods in the area by addressing persistent water shortages and ensuring a steady supply of safe water to communities.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, the Governor said the initiative forms part of the county administration’s broader strategy to curb water scarcity and expand access to reliable water services across Kitui County.
The event was hosted by Kisasi MCA Nicholas Mutemi, who praised the project, describing it as life-changing for residents who have long struggled with water challenges.
“This project will ease the burden of walking long distances in search of water and improve sanitation and livelihoods in our communities,” Mutemi said.
According to county officials, the Nzeeu–Kavasya–Ngiluni Sumpwell Water Supply Scheme has the capacity to serve up to 2,500 households per day, marking a major milestone in the county government’s efforts to enhance water access in rural areas.
The commissioning ceremony was also attended by local leaders and residents who welcomed the project as a key step toward sustainable water supply in the region!
