Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe today hosted a delegation from the State Department for Energy led by Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi and Principal Secretary Alex Wachira during a courtesy call at the County Headquarters.
The high-level meeting comes as the Ministry of Energy prepares to host the 2025 Mashujaa Day Energy Week in Kitui County from October 13th to 19th, 2025. The visiting team is assessing the county’s preparedness to host the event, which will run alongside the national Mashujaa Day celebrations.
Speaking during the meeting, Governor Malombe and CS Wandayi reaffirmed the strong partnership between the national and county governments, emphasizing joint efforts to expand energy access, promote sustainable development, and implement projects that boost economic growth and improve livelihoods across Kitui.
Governor Malombe welcomed the Energy Ministry’s initiatives and assured full county support in ensuring the success of the upcoming Energy Week and Mashujaa Day celebrations.
