Renowned Kamba vocalist Wamaiyu has sparked political excitement in Kitui County after releasing a new hit song that openly endorses a section of local leaders for future leadership roles.
The song, which is already trending across social media and local radio stations “like bush fire”, praises the leadership qualities of several prominent Kitui figures. Among those mentioned in the lyrics are Ambassador Kiema Kilonzo, Yatta/Kwavonza MCA Hon. Mark Ndingo, and youth leader Kitonya Musya, among others.
Already section of kitui East residents are urging Amb kiema to rescue them from Nimrod Mbai who’s work is to fight and insult them, while Ndingo is being urged to aim higher.
The endorsement is being interpreted as a significant show of support for the leaders ahead of the 2027 elections, with many political observers noting the growing influence of artists like Wamaiyu in shaping public opinion.
