Hundreds of enthusiastic residents from Mwingi region have turned out in large numbers to welcome and register with the newly launched National Liberal Party (NLP) during its ongoing membership recruitment and party registration drive.
The colorful event, held across several strategic locations in Mwingi, attracted youth, women, and opinion leaders eager to associate with what they described as a fresh and people-centered political movement ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during the drive, NLP regional coordinator praised the residents for embracing the party’s vision, which focuses on economic empowerment, inclusive governance, and youth-led innovation.

“Our party stands for national unity, liberal economic progress, and dignity for all Kenyans. Mwingi has shown today that they are ready for a new political path,” he said.
Local leaders and aspiring politicians also took the opportunity to declare their interest in joining NLP, signaling a shift in the political tide within the region.
The party leadership has vowed to continue with similar drives in other parts of Kitui County and beyond, aiming to build a strong grassroots network ahead of the official launch later this year.
