On Tuesday 17th June 2025 – Kitui Executive for Agriculture and Livestock, Dr. Stephen Mbaya Kimwele, led a team of engineers to Ngiluni village in Mui Ward, Mwingi Central, to assess the Momoka earth dam.
The visit follows damage to the dam’s embankment during the 2024 September rains. The team engaged the local community and assured them of urgent intervention to _restore the dam for continued water access for livestock and irrigated agriculture
