Former Kitui Central parliamentary aspirant Hon. Boniface Musambi has urged Kitui residents to continue registering for the Social Health Authority (SHA) program, terming it a critical component of President William Ruto’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
Speaking during a high-profile empowerment forum held at Kwa Mutonga in Kitui West, Musambi emphasized the importance of universal healthcare and encouraged locals not to be left behind in the ongoing SHA registration.
At the same event, Musambi made a passionate appeal to the national government to retain Kitui County on the list of designated hardship areas for teachers. He argued that the region continues to face infrastructural and environmental challenges that warrant continued hardship allowances for education personnel.
“Removing Kitui from the hardship area list would be unfair to our teachers who endure tough conditions to offer quality education in remote areas,” said Musambi.
The forum was presided over by Deputy President Hon. Prof. Kithure Kindiki and brought together a host of national and local leaders. Among those in attendance were Kitui South MP Dr. Rachel Nyamai, Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse, Woman Rep. Fibi Mutinda Kyule, Mwala MP Vincent Kawaya, CRA Commissioner Benedict Muasya, and Livestock Development PS Jonathan Mueke.
The event focused on grassroots empowerment, livestock restocking, and enhancing service delivery under the national government’s development agenda.
