Machakos Governor is facing growing political pressure as prominent leaders threw their weight behind former State House Chief of Staff and 2022 Machakos gubernatorial contender, Hon. Nzioka Waita, during a high-profile event in Machakos Town constituency.
In a move seen by political analysts as a direct challenge to the current county leadership, Hon. Waita, accompanied by Machakos Town MP Hon. Caleb Mule, presided over the official handover of a classroom construction site at Mwanyani Primary School.
The project involves the construction of three modern classrooms aimed at improving learning conditions in the public school. Speaking during the event, both Waita and Mule emphasized the need for collaboration in uplifting education standards across Machakos County.
“We are here not for politics, but for the future of our children. Development cannot wait,” said Waita, who has been steadily gaining ground as a pro-development leader in the region.
Hon. Caleb Mule echoed similar sentiments, reaffirming his commitment to support education initiatives in partnership with likeminded leaders. “Our unity is based on service delivery and impact. This is the kind of leadership Machakos deserves,” he stated.
The event attracted attention from residents and observers alike, fueling speculation about a potential political realignment ahead of the 2027 general elections. As pressure mounts, the current county administration faces increasing scrutiny over service delivery, particularly in the education sector.
