Kitui Wiper Nominated MCA Hon. Mbithe Mulinge has earned praise for her proactive and exemplary service in the County Assembly, as she shifts her focus from nomination politics to preparing for an elective seat in 2027. Her decision to pave the way for new leaders to benefit from party nominations has been described by observers as both selfless and forward-thinking.
Mbithe’s active participation in Assembly debates, community outreach, and policy advocacy stands in stark contrast to what appears to be growing complacency among other Wiper nominated MCAs across the Lower Eastern counties of Machakos, Makueni, and Kitui.
Critics have raised concerns that many of these MCAs are not engaging meaningfully in legislative duties and are simply “waiting for 2027,” with the expectation of being re-nominated instead of mentoring or making room for fresh, deserving individuals within the party.
