Kitui East Member of Parliament Hon. Nimrod Mbai has issued a stern warning to politicians who frequently criticize President William Ruto, cautioning them not to bring such rhetoric to his constituency.
Speaking during a funeral in Kitui East over the weekend, Mbai condemned what he termed as “disrespectful politics” targeting the Head of State. He urged leaders to engage in constructive and issue-based discourse rather than maligning the presidency for political gain.
“Politics should be about ideas and development. Let no one come to Kitui East to insult President William Ruto. The people here stand firmly behind him,” said the MP.
Mbai added that Kitui East residents are aligned with the Kenya Kwanza administration’s development agenda and will not entertain opposition-aligned theatrics in the region.
The remarks come amid heightened political tension as the country continues to debate key governance and economic issues. Mbai reiterated his support for President Ruto and warned that anyone attempting to spread dissent in Kitui East would face stiff political resistance.
