Mwingi West MP Hon. Charles Nguna was met with an electrifying and emotional welcome as he arrived and spoke at the home of Wiper party leader H.E. Kalonzo Musyoka in Muuna Village, Tseikuru. The rousing reception came in the wake of increasing political heat in the region, silencing local critics who had questioned the MP’s political standing.

Hon. Nguna was among a host of high-profile opposition leaders who graced a significant political gathering held in Mwingi North. The event brought together top figures from various opposition parties in what is being described as a powerful show of unity and renewed momentum.

Notable leaders in attendance included Kenya’s Second Deputy President H.E. Rigathi Gachagua, DAP-K party leader Eugene Wamalwa, Democratic Party leader and National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi, PNU’s Peter Munya, Jubilee Party Chairman Saitoti Torome, and a strong delegation from the Wiper Democratic Movement.

The gathering served as a platform for opposition leaders to rally together under a united front, sending a clear message of intent as they seek to steer the country away from what they termed as “tyranny and despair.”

“This is the United Opposition determined to reclaim Kenya from tyranny and despair. This is indeed, a moment not of ambition, but of assignment,” said H.E. Kalonzo Musyoka during his address to the jubilant crowd.

The unity rally marks a key moment in the political landscape of the Lower Eastern region and is seen as a strategic realignment of forces ahead of the 2027 General Elections. Hon. Nguna’s grand reception has further solidified his influence in Mwingi West and the larger Ukambani region.

Video footage of the welcome ceremony has gone viral on social media, with supporters hailing the MP’s return as a symbol of growing unity and resilience within the opposition ranks.
