Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka expressed his disappointment over former Kitui Senator David Musila’s visit to State House seeking support for a critical 17-kilometer road project. Musyoka labeled the act as “shameful,” suggesting that it reflects a desperate political climate where leaders feel compelled to beg for basic infrastructure.

Musyoka remained firm in his stance, asserting that the development of the road will only proceed after the current administration, led by President William Ruto, is removed from power. He urged the government to tread carefully when discussing sensitive issues, particularly in light of the potential ramifications surrounding the arrest of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, whose apprehension, he claimed, would have “unthinkable” consequences.

“Further intensifying the discussion, Mwingi West MP Charles Nguna weighed in on the issue, expressing his unwavering commitment to securing the road for his constituents. “Even if it means kneeling down or stripping naked for that road, I will do it! Development is key in Mwingi West. It shall be done in Jesus’ name,” Nguna declared passionately.”

The rhetoric surrounding the road’s development underscores the growing frustration among local leaders as they grapple with infrastructure deficits, with many calling for more accountability and urgency from the government. As political tensions rise, it remains to be seen how the government’s response will shape the future of this vital road project for Mwingi West.
