The Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Yatta Kwa Vonza, Hon. Mark Ndingo, on Saturday hosted a successful funds drive at Kwakilui in support of the construction of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Kwakilui Parish.
He was joined by fellow MCAs Hon. Katula Mukwate and Hon. Gabriel Munyao, along with residents, clergy, and community leaders.The event, held at the grounds of the future parish, mobilized strong support from the local community. Construction work for the church is set to begin immediately on Sunday, signaling a significant step forward for the spiritual and communal life of the area.
In a major development for the health sector, Hon. Ndingo also announced that Safaricom Foundation has approved a request to renovate and equip the Maternity and Newborn Unit at Yatta Health Centre in Kiusyani.
The project, valued at Ksh 15 million, will be managed through MPESA Foundation Project Management Consultants.“This is a transformative project for our people. Once complete, the Yatta Health Centre will meet the standards of a Level 4 medical facility, significantly boosting access to maternal and child health services,” Hon. Ndingo said.
Residents welcomed both announcements with enthusiasm, lauding the MCA’s commitment to development and improved service delivery across the ward.
