Former Kitui Deputy Speaker Hon. Emeritus Kasee Musya has come out strongly against recent remarks by Prof. Makau Mutua suggesting that if Wiper leader H.E Kalonzo Musyoka is not made the opposition flagbearer, Kenyans—particularly from the Kamba community—should consider supporting President William Ruto.
Speaking exclusively to TCD Digital, Hon. Kasee Musya dismissed Prof. Mutua’s statement as opportunistic and misleading, questioning his loyalty to the Wiper party and its leadership.
“Prof. Makau has never believed in H.E Kalonzo Musyoka,” Kasee said. “Now he thinks if the Kamba community votes for President Ruto, he can claim the credit. That’s wishful thinking.”

Hon. Kasee further criticized Prof. Mutua’s role as an advisor to the President, saying he should focus on helping President Ruto uphold the Constitution rather than interfering in opposition politics.
“The newly appointed advisor should be telling our President to start respecting the Constitution, not attempting to dictate terms to the opposition,” Kasee added.
The sharp rebuke reflects growing tension within the Ukambani political landscape, as leaders position themselves ahead of the 2027 elections.
