CECM for Trade Rose Mutuku and kwa Vonza MCA Mark Nding’o on Tuesday officially launched the Kwakilui Market at Makusya, marking a significant step in promoting local trade and empowering farmers in the area.
The launch, which included a symbolic tree-planting ceremony, also marked the establishment of Tuesday as the official market day.
The new market is expected to open up business opportunities for the fast-growing town and provide a convenient platform for farmers to sell their produce closer to home.
Speaking at the event, CECM Mutuku emphasized the county government’s commitment to economic empowerment through decentralized markets. MCA Nding’o echoed the sentiments, urging residents to take full advantage of the new facility to improve their livelihoods.
