Hon. Dr. Rachael Kaki Nyamai, MP for Kitui South, officially launched the disbursement of the NG-CDF education bursaries on Wednesday afternoon at Huduma Center, Mutomo. The initiative saw a total of Ksh 46,443,927 distributed to support over 12,000 students across secondary schools, colleges, and universities.
The well-attended event brought together key government officials including Sub-County heads led by Esther Thuo, ACC Mutomo, who represented DCC Mutomo Peter Mutu, Kiarii, DEO Ikutha Sub-County, and OCS Mutomo, among other dignitaries. School principals from across the constituency also graced the occasion, underscoring the vital role of education in community development.
Dr. Nyamai emphasized that the bursary program is part of her ongoing commitment to ensure no child is left behind due to financial constraints. Special focus was given to students living with disabilities, reflecting a deliberate move towards inclusive education.
“This bursary disbursement is a step towards building a better future for our children. Education is the greatest equalizer, and we are committed to empowering every learner in Kitui South,” said Dr. Nyamai.
The MP reaffirmed her dedication to improving education access and quality in the constituency through sustained support and collaboration with stakeholders.
