Hundreds of residents gathered at Kavumbuni market in Kanyangi Ward on Sunday to welcome former Mp Hon. Charles Nyamai, who was in the area for a public engagement tour. The crowd broke into song and dance as the former Member of Parliament made his entrance, in what many described as a heroic and emotional reception.
Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, Hon. Nyamai thanked the people of Kanyangi for their unwavering support and reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people of Kitui. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of unity, development, and youth empowerment, promising to continue championing projects that uplift the lives of ordinary citizens.
“I am deeply moved by your love and support. Our journey is far from over, and together we shall build a stronger and more prosperous Kitui,” he said.
Residents praised Hon. Nyamai’s leadership track record, citing improved infrastructure, bursaries for students, and water projects initiated during his previous term in office.
