Kitui Executive for Agriculture and Livestock, Dr. Stephen Mbaya Kimwele, accompanied by the Chief Officer Madam Gladys Kivoto (fisheries) today led a team of senior officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock in a site visit to the Kitui showground, as part of early preparations for the upcoming Kitui Agricultural show and Trade Fair set for July 2025.

The team, toured the demonstration farms to assess their current state and readiness for the event as the demo farms are expected to serve as key learning hubs during the fair, showcasing modern, climate-smart agricultural technologies and best farming practices suitable for Kitui’s climatic conditions.

The inspection aimed to identify areas that require improvement to ensure the showground is well-prepared to host exhibitors and thousands of expected visitors.

The county is keen on using this year’s trade fair as a platform to promote agribusiness, market access, and innovation in agriculture, livestock, and fisheries.

The July 2025 fair is anticipated to attract a wide range of stakeholders including farmers, agripreneurs, development partners, and private sector players, all working towards advancing food security and economic growth in the region.
