Kitui County is set to fly Kitui’s flag high in Homa Bay county during this year’s Kenya Youths Inter County Sports Association (KYISA) after a days’ recruitment and having the best successfully recruited to represent Kitui County.
Kitui County Basketball Team has a long history of participation and achievement in competitive basketball championships in Kenya Youths Inter County Sports Association (KYISA). Over the years, the team has demonstrated remarkable progress, overcoming challenges to be the defending champions.The boys scaled heights in county, regional and national competitions.
Kitui County will be presenting Basketball Ball boys and Football girls at Homa Bay county for the National league, which will be played between 13th to 19th April.
Kitui County Chief officer for Youth, ICT and Sports Mr Nason Kang’alya encouraged the participants,citing that the County Government of Kitui appreciates that its youth form the backbone of the Society hence the keenness to implement initiatives geared towards enhancing their productivity in sports.
The Chief officer further emphasized on the need to keep youths occupied with meaningful activities such as sports,inorder to keep them away from crime and abuse of drugs and substance.
The Chief officer was joined by Assistant Director sports Charcles Wambua among other sports officers,with the team coaches leading the participants in the recruitment exercise.
